Plug-in electric cars set to debut in 2010

Thanks the Lord that there is finally a date for electric cars to hit the market. In January of 2007, the chairman of General Motors announced that the release of the Chevy Volt, a plug-in electrical car would be ready for the market sometime in 2010. I think that this is a long time coming, and for many reasons believe that if it were not for the big business oil companies this would be old news. Many of the large car companies are struggling due to the outrageous gas prices, as are the consumers. This invention is win, win. The Chevy Volt, much like other projected plug-in cars rely on a lithium-ion battery. It will only require a 6-hour charge (which is probably going to be when you are sleeping) to run for an average of 40 miles a day. This would be amazing considering on average I would never drive that much in a day, and thus would be using ZERO gas! I hope that this projection does not hit any "speed-bumps" because I am personally tired of spending half of my pay-checks on gas.
